Horsham District Health Walks

All welcome to guided, free, sociable walks led by trained volunteers; no need to book, just turn-up at the start point. A booklet containing the walks is available from the Walks Co-ordinator on 07720 714306 or online at www.horsham.gov.uk/leisurepages/Leisure/sports/walking
Beginners are recommended to contact the Walk Leader: to discuss suitability. All walks can be wet and muddy in places. Forthcoming walks in the Woodmancote Parish and neighbouring areas are as follows:

Tue 7 & 21 April 11:00am Steyning Health Centre Walk 2 miles 75 mins
Walk 2276. Meet at Steyning Health Centre, Tanyard Lane, BN44 3RJ (TQ176113). Various routes taking in parts of Steyning and the outskirts. Includes some stiles and inclines. Wed 8 & 22 April 10:00am Henfield Byways 2-3 miles 1 hr
Walk 1033. Meet Henfield Library, High Street, Henfield, BN5 9HN. Lovely walk around the twittens, ginnells and snickets of Henfield. May be extended if walkers wish to walk further. No dogs. Anne 01273 493671

Sat 11 April 9:00am Wiston/Steyning Downland Dog Walk 2 miles 75 mins
Walk 2163. Meet at Steyning Cricket Pavilion, BN44 3LE. Please park in one of the Steyning car parks as there is limited parking at cricket pavilion. A walk for dog owners into accessible areas of the Steyning Downland Scheme and includes a hill. Supported by HDC & Steyning Downland Scheme. Maximum of two dogs per handler, you are responsible for actions of your dog. Ann 01903 297553

Thu 23 April 10:30am St George's Day Bluebell Walk 3 or 5 miles 2 hrs
Walk 2157. Park and meet at St George’s Church, Steyning Road, West Grinstead, RH13 8LR (TQ171208). From Horsham (A24), take the B2135 signposted Partridge Green, first right at the bungalow. We all start together and then we have a choice of a shorter or longer route. A flat circular walk with far reaching views of the South Downs, interesting buildings and houses along the way. Mon 27 April 10:00am West Grinstead Church & Downs Link 5 miles 2.5 hrs
Walk 2098. Meet at West Sussex County Council car park next to the Downs Link at West Grinstead, immediately east of Orchard Restaurant (RH13 8LU, TQ183226). The car park is hard to find as the sign is tucked away especially if you are coming from the west. The car park entrance is opposite Park Lane. This walk involves walking along the Downs Link and fields to view a church and a walk along the River Adur. Well behaved dogs welcome. Irene 01403 783637 / 07790 420752

Wed 29 April 10:00am Shermanbury Circular 6 miles 2.5 hrs
Walk 2134. Meet in the car park of The Bull Inn, at Mock Bridge, BN5 9AD (TQ211181), about 3 miles south of Cowfold along the A281 through Shermanbury or about 1½ miles north of Henfield. The circular walk is mostly flat, with some stiles, along the River Adur and the Downs Link. Superb views of the South Downs and the walk takes us past Shermanbury Church. The walk may be muddy in places. Good beer and food at the “Pizza” pub. No dogs please as we may encounter livestock. Mike 07855 502023
